How to Activate Microsoft 365 Family (Product Code)

Microsoft 365 Family is activated using a 25-character product key and is linked to your Microsoft Account. One subscription can be shared with up to 5 additional family members.

What You Need Before Activation

• A valid Microsoft 365 Family product key
  (Example: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX)

• A Microsoft Account (Outlook / Hotmail / Live)

• Stable internet connection

• PC, Mac, tablet, or smartphone ready for installation

Step 1: Redeem the Microsoft 365 Family Product Key

• Open a web browser and go to:
  https://setup.office.com

• Sign in with your Microsoft Account
   This account will manage the Microsoft 365 Family subscription

• Enter your 25-character product key

• Select Country/Region and Language

• Confirm to add Microsoft 365 Family to your account

 Once completed, the subscription is linked to your Microsoft Account.

Step 2: Download & Install Microsoft 365 Apps

• Go to Microsoft Account → Services & subscriptions

• Find Microsoft 365 Family

• Click Install

• Download and run the installer

• Follow the on-screen instructions

Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) will install automatically.

Step 3: Activate Microsoft 365

• Open any Microsoft 365 app (Word, Excel, PowerPoint…)

• Sign in with the same Microsoft Account

• Activation happens automatically

 You should see:
Subscription Activated

How to Share Microsoft 365 Family

• Go to account.microsoft.com/services

• Select Microsoft 365 Family

• Click Share subscription

• Invite family members via email

Each member can install Office apps on their own devices.

How to Check Activation Status

• Open any Office app

• Go to File → Account

• Under Product Information, you should see:
  Microsoft 365 Family – Active
